Great food, great people who own the restaurant! We had an amazing meal tonight, the owners were very friendly. Will definitely be back.

We ate there last night!! We are so upset we have waited so long to eat here!! We tried to get a last min reservation but there wasn't one available. We were able to sit at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious!! We can not wait to come back again! My husband liked it so much he wants to come back later this month for his birthday!! I wish I could give the review more than 5 stars!

Real chef from Italy! Cozy decor,great staff, fair meal prices! The pizza was perfect! The pasta dynamic flavors! Worth the visit!

I used Yelp to help find a place to eat and I thought this place sound like a good place with all the reviews. When we walked in she asked if we had reservations and I looked around and thought this doesn't look like a pizza place or a casual grille atmosphere. But we was asked to wait in the lounge and they would get a table first us. We ordered the garlic breadsticks they was delicious with the parmesan cheese sauce. We got a pizza and it was very good. So my only problem with this place would be it is trying to be an upscale restaurant which is fine but maybe change the name to match your atmosphere. And make reservations.

Great Manhattans! Ihad the shrimp paperdelle. It was delicious. The lemon cake was so yummy with delicious lemon camdy. Food and drinks are great whenever I go there!

A great place for a date night or an evening out with girlfriends. The staff were very knowledgeable of the wine selections and the food was delectable.

Wow! Amazing food and amazing service. We love this restaurant. It’s such a gem. The food is very unique but there’s something for everyone. Surprisingly, the seafood dishes were especially good and I highly recommend the scallops as they are perfectly cooked. The wine list is also eclectic and extensive. Overall great food and a great experience and atmosphere.

If you are wanting a quality dining experience without Chicago prices, consider Uptown Grille. The small, quaint space and well-trained and friendly staff make this a one-of-a-kind experience just south of Kankakee. The executive chef, Alessandro, is a northern Italian trained chef that has an incredible eye for detail that pairs well with his exploratory sense of flavor combinations. If you are an adventurous eater that wants a great experience, you NEED to try this place. Reservations are needed, especially on he weekends as Ale’s dining room only has 12 tables. Great for date night, anniversaries, parties. Fun drinks, craft beer on draft, and a fabulous and worldy wine list. This place is for people who enjoy every aspect of dining- the atmosphere, plate presentation, first bites, unique desserts, great flavors, authentic. Don’t worry, for those who are still newer to the eatery world, Uptown Grille offers pizzas (best in/around Kankakee County), burgers, and has a kids menu.

We were home for the holidays and my mom wanted to visit this restaurant based on a review she saw in the paper. My husband is Italian and we visit Italy often so we have fairly high expectations from an Italian restaurant. Overall, very pleased with this restaurant. The entrees were superb. I had the strip steak al rosmarino, my husband the pollo con castagne e speck, my mom the scallops, and my aunt a pizza. All of these entrees were fabulous. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. The cheese board was fresh and well plated. My salad, unfortunately, was so cold that my teeth hurt while eating it until it warmed up to room temp. We also had to wait awhile at the beginning for our appetizers and salads. That said, it was a very good meal. The wine list is quite impressive and the espresso was delicious. Will definitely return when visiting again in the future.

I strongly agree with the other guests who gave high reviews and said "Why did we wait so long?" I can't wait to go back. The waitress knew the menu, the wines, & was very educated about food allergies. We were super impressed this place.

Fantastic 24oz bone in ribeye for only 34 dollars that rivals 60 dollar steaks, oh also everything else is great hahahahahahaahah

What a wonderful surprise! All we were looking for was a place that wasn't fast food on our way from Chicago to Decatur and we got such a nice, delicious meal! The plates were beautiful and the waitress was kind. It took a while for the food but it was worth it. I'll make the hour and half drive to come back to try more of the menu.

Food was unique and clearly homemade. Everything we tried was delicious, 4 cheese pizza was amazing!

Wonderful place for a great meal. This was our second visit. First visit we sat in the bar and had pizza. It was very good.Yesterday Laura was our server. Attentive without overly so. Great recommendations regarding food and wine. Nice portions and fairly priced. Very pleasant and relaxing meal. Menu items that would be very difficult if not impossible to find any where else in the area. Go and try Uptown.
